Okay I moved this one over here.
When we got married most of my family & friends said we wouldn't last. 42 years later we're still together.

Like I told ya before met my wife on a blind date, we dated a little after that then broke up. Dated one of her girl friends a little just to piss her off but I soon found out how much I missed her. We got back together and the rest is history as they say. This first song sums up how I really felt about her.
The short time we were apart she was my stalker, my brother told me she was always riding by my house to see if I was home or working.

Two for Tuesday....Tesla's Heaven's trail. This song kicks ass. One of my favorite songs just to hit the road and turn it up as loud as I can.
Very underrated band.

Hey I got kind words for ya Jeffrey. I saw you guys picture on face book. I thought Linda was your daughter. haha. No offense to you. She just looks really young.
At mothers day the other day, one of my neiphews friends asked if I was Craigs (Brody my brother in Law) father. She was so embarrassed. She said she just thought he was a JR since we are both Craigs. He's nine years younger than me. UGH. haha.
Old Guys Rule.
Marlene and I are not married. But we have been together for 22.5 years.

She just looks really young. She almost 2 years younger than me, she has aged well. Marlene and I are not married. But we have been together for 22.5 years. You & Marlene may not have got married but being together 22.5 years I bet the state says you're married..

This song reminds me of my Daughter's Mother. Never talks about/admits her addiction around "certain" company. Instead, she blames everything on me whenever she get's an opportunity to speak to my daughter....as that's MUCH easier than explaining the TRUTH. I never had any drug addictions, and she didn't have any issues with that during our time together(2003-2010).
We split in 2010, and I took custody of my biological daughter(now 12), and her brother(now 17/not biologically mine).... 6-7 years ago....back in 2011, because she had developed an opiate addiction after we split, that ultimately led her to heroine.
She abandoned her children, started a new family...(because that was easier than going through the process of her proving continued sobriety and earning visitation rights to her current children)... and left the load on me to explain it all.
I've had custody since then(2011), and got a package sent here just once over the past 6-7 years for X-Mas. My address hasn't changed, nor has my phone number. However, no calls/cards/gifts have been sent this way in years for any Holiday or B-Day except that one time = SAVAGE...
Still to this day their Mother doesn't want to own up, and do what's right to become a part of their lives again. I still have to shoulder the blame though, as far as my daughter goes... She's too young to understand. Her self esteem is shot to hell because her Mom is 100% absent in her life, and I'm paying the price right now with my Daughter. Times are tough, but we'll make it through it and hopefully become stronger from it all....

This song ,from the 90's was one of the best in the whole decade. So,,I dont have to post this one,as Doc did it already. Doc...sorry to hear that story. I know all too well what addiction can do to a family. My first wife was a bad alcoholic and I stayed and put up with it for a many years. Trying to do the right thing by her and the kids. I just woke up one day and realized that I wasnt happy and I didnt love her anymore. We had a favorite song too,and although I dont listen to it much these days,I still love the song and it will always be one of my favorites. I will post it right below this post. I will be praying for you and the kids and I will pray that God will show her one day that its not too late for her. Love ya brother.

That's tough on kids Eddie. I know first hand. My biological father left when I was six. Lives a few miles from me to this day. If he is still alive. Started a new family also. I have a half sister and brother I have never known. It didn't bother me, or so I thought, until I had kids. I didn't know any different but when I look back it makes me sad to have to go to cub scouts, little league, etc with my neighbors and their dad. The kids might be stuffing feelings and not even know it. I did.
I always thought that song by the Black Crowes was by the Rolling Stones.
You are a good man.

Thx, Craig. I remember you telling me about your story. It's encouraging for me to see what a good man and father that you turned out to be yourself, despite the hardships growing up.... as my children will both continue to face similar mental trials as they grow older. Thanks for your friendship over the years....and hopefully many more to come.
