Terrible news. Let us pray it turns. Projections have it hitting more to the north of my area ATM, but nobody really knows for sure.

Hopefully it will go farther up the coast or just die out. That's the one problem/worry bout living so close to the coast.

if its a dead on hit around Charleston area or anywhere close within 75-100 miles of that you better evac.
I been through Hugo in 1989 in the middle of SC and it went way way inland and it looked like a bomb had been dropped.
Over 100 miles inland and there was no electricity for a week and no water for 5 days and after there was water you had to boil it first.
Better stock up if you wanna stick it out and batten down the hatches because if it hits at Cat 4 or 5 it wont be pretty.
BTW...we are coming that way next saturday. hahaha

I just looked to check out the hurricane, not good not good at all. Their saying Florence is now a Category 4 & could be a Category 5 by the time it hits land.

I read that if you need to evacuate you should take pictures of all your stuff. Put anything you want to save in the dishwasher.
How is this progressing for you wrong coasters? It doesn't look good from what I've seen.

How is this progressing for you wrong coasters? It doesn't look good from what I've seen. Most projections I've saw having the eye of the storm hitting in Wilmington area of NC. I'm in SC, and that's about 80-90 miles NE of me. If it was still a CAT 3, I personally wouldn't be too worried at all if it hit's there. However, it's recently been upgraded to a CAT 4, with the possibility of it being a CAT 5 by the time it hits land. That would be catastrophic, especially considering the span of it is supposed to be 200-300 miles wide.
