My cable company was supposed to be providing 5G network service, along with a normal network too. The 5G wasn't working right, if at all. In fact, it was much slower and messed up than the normal secondary network option I had. Every time I did anything here on this site, the page would take forever to fully load, and the wheel would keep spinning even after it seemed fully loaded. It wasn't just here either, the whole damn internet was slow AF. Finally got them out here to fix it. Got the 5G up and running now, and I just can't believe what a difference it is. I'm geeking out over here watching how much quicker this thing responds now. haha Can't believe I tolerated with that for the past 4-5 months.

Ain't nothing piss ya off more than slow internet. Not only that, but the damn connection would get interrupted, often several times a day. It'd be good when you start typing something, then be out when you go to post. Happened several times after I'd takin' the time to write or fill something out that was lengthy and I'd lose it all. Started to copy and paste any lengthy posts into a notepad and save before hitting post. It was bad. This is so nice now.

I can relate. Mine was bad and I knew no difference until my son ran a speed test. It was pathetic and I have Cox and pay a lot. I did some research and found that my modem was bad. I got a new one for big bucks. The one Dive said would have to vibrate and make her breakfast for that price. But it works great. Got Cox to lower my price and raise my speed also. Now I do not know what a buffering thing looks like anymore. I"M LIGHTNING fast.
Doesn't vibrate or make breakfast, but its worth every penny.

I used to use AOL dial up. Me too. I hated it when my napster download would take half an hour for a song and it would freeze and drop one minute before being done. not sure how I got my i pod so full of songs.

I did some research and found that my modem was bad. I got a new one for big bucks. Now I do not know what a buffering thing looks like anymore. I"M LIGHTNING fast. Doesn't vibrate or make breakfast, but its worth every penny. My modem was part of the problem too. He replaced it with a different one and did a few other things to get it properly working. He also said the modems the cable company give aren't close to as good as the ones you pay a few more bucks for on your own. I agree though, it'd be worth every extra penny to not have and wait as it's buffering and loading a page. Thankfully I didn't have to pay anything to get it right. I used to use AOL dial up. Me three. Remember the noises it would make starting it up? I hated it when my napster download would take half an hour for a song and it would freeze and drop one minute before being done. not sure how I got my i pod so full of songs. Aghhh man. I remember that. I spent so much time doing that stuff back in the day. Pretty much irrelevant today though, and thankfully so. Today it's as easy as playing almost any song from youtube right over your phone. You can even transfer from phone to tv too, and now you get the videos to go along with most of em' also. Just create your own set of playlists on youtube and you're set. We've come a long ways.
