I want one of these 3 players with our first pick for the Eagles:
DE Derek Barnett, WR Corey Davis or RB Dalvin Cook.... basically in that order depending on who's still available.

Id think if jarrad davis is on the board at 23 the Giants get em and id be real happy with that. If not him I dont see a TE thats gonna be available so probably an OT like Bolles. Ive heard rumors of Safety peppers but not sure where he would play. It would seem stupid to take him.
Id like to see a future QB get picked at some point.

I think the glamour positions (offense) are just fan motivated.

Eagles better get a CB or they are in trouble. Sure. They need a few in this draft. Just not sure we need to reach in the first round for one. Adding a premiere DE/Edge rusher could be the better solution, IMO. I'll get back to that in a minute. The whole city's been buzzing about McCaffrey like it might happen and even be a smart move. Their secondary is abysmal. I think McCaffrey's stock has risen too much now to still be available for the Eagles with the 14th pick. Their secondary is not abysmal on the whole....just the CB's... Safety positions are solid.

The Eagles DO have an overwhelming need at the CB position. As of right now, our two starting CB's are not really #1 starting options on many other teams, but as of right now...they are for us: (CB)Jalen Mills: 23 years old, now entering his second season in the NFL. We drafted him in the 7th round last year. Supposedly would have been drafted much earlier if not for some injury & "off-the-field" concerns. He's a gritty, competitive player, who has an attitude and plays with an edge. I like that side of him, but at this point in time I'm not comfortable with him being one-of-two every down starters. Malcolm Jenkins believes Jalen Mills will have a breakout season(let's hope so). Our other starting CB is Patrick Robinson. He was drafted by the Saints in the first round of the 2010 Draft. He'll be 30 years old to start the season. Listed as the starter there for two of the four years he spent there. Supposedly it had a lot to do with injuries. He's been a journeyman the past two seasons while playing in brief stints for the Chargers and Colts. At 30 years old and a long injury history, he's clearly just a stop-gap that we hope can hold up a full season. With that being said, (CB)Gareon Conley(had Conley not been accused of rape two days ago) would have likely been taken by the Eagles at pick #14, if he were still available. I wouldn't completely rule out the possibility of the Eagles still taking him at pick No. 14, but clearly, this is a wildcard situation(Hoping they don't take him now).
If the Eagles really like him and are willing to roll the dice, pick 43 in the second round would obviously be a much better value, but will he still be available there?
(CB)Marlon Humphrey- With Ohio State's Marshon Lattimore likely long gone by pick 14 and Conley a major risk, the consensus best corner available would be Humphrey. I think that would be a reach with the 14th overall pick. While it's clear that we need help at the CB position, I'd much rather pass on CB in round 1 and go after an edge rusher like (DE) Derek Barnett. We lacked a legitimate pass rush last season, and our defensive coordinator(Jim Schwartz)likes to generate pass rush from the front four lineman, as opposed to blitzing. Vinny Curry wasn't very impressive at all last season, and I think is better suited as a rotational player. 32-year old Chris Long is also more of a situational player I feel will contribute, but like Curry, neither are dependable starters on the other DE side opposite of Brandon Graham. Fletcher Cox and Graham had to fight through two blockers on many plays last season. They went out and got (DT)Timmy Jernigan this offseason to line up alongside Cox, and Jernigan is a legitimate force in the middle who does get after the QB. Insert a player like Barnett, and I think our D-Line will be able to wreak havoc on opposing QB's. When you're able to get consistent pressure on QB's without having to blitz, average CB's can begin to appear as potential pro-bowl players. That's why I believe Barnett could kill two bird's with one stone. We lacked consistent pass rush last season and our CB's were constantly getting burned. The additions of Jernigan and Barnett with Graham and Cox sure up both of those issues IMO. Grab a few CB's later in the draft.

I've seen a wide range of players that might be linked to the Steelers first pick. They need LB,CB,QB (since Ben has talked about retirement). Doc the good thing this year is that the DB'S are deep so the Eagles should not have any problem getting a couple in rounds 2-4 or maybe even later.

With the seventh pick in the 2017 NFL Draft the Los Angles Chargers select a new owner and he promises to bring them back to San Diego.
