Well..Im still smoking. I wish I would have never started, because I hate something having control over me like that, and I hate that I probably have spent the cost of a new 2015 truck on cigarettes. Although...I have cut way back. Im donw to less than a pack a day. On good days I only smoke maybe 10. As long as I dont eat, have sex, work, get on PC,play cards, drink beer, drink coffee, watch football, play golf, fish,or burn cd's....I dont need a cigarette. LOL Gosh I was only half pack a day, after all those years. People would say 'quitting should be a breeze, you hardly smoke'. Well, truth is, I smoked the 100s, so lit up about 20x a day, lighting each cig twice. I don't think it was 'cheap'. Just didn't want more than 5 drags a smoke outing, so why not. My body was averse to it, deep cough, maybe on the verge of COPD, IDK TBH. But like I said, it's the act, not the amount of nicotine. So once you eliminate the nicotine (enter patch), you can better focus on the real battle. Things you do for positive reinforcement. Your new truck would be on that pro/con list. What you'd spend on cigs? Put that money aside each day or week, to see it add up, a tangible. "Having control over you". That was one 'pro' right away for me. The freedom of not having to go buy them (not to mention money saved), having them on your person/purse, where you can and can't smoke, annoying other people, etc. EDIT: Craig, did you hear about this? What if you got a call for this? lol www.nbc-2.com/story/29697757/pool-pops-out-of-ground-at-pasco-home#.VcD3oPmCi9X

Heres what i did yesterday. I added up all the years of smoking (37) multiply that by 365 days a year.
Then I rounded off the cost of cigs, give and take inflation and taxes. I came up with 3.50 per pack.
when I first started a pack of cigs cost 50 cents. Now they are around 4.50.
But..I added the 50 cent to the 3 bucks because long ago I didnt come close to a pack a day. So I offset that with the 50 cents.
When all is tallied up...I came up with 47,000 dollars. Thats actually almost the price of a house.
SMDH. Im stupid.

As many hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and assisted living facilities as I have been in lately I am wondering what is the point? Riding around on your scooters because you have lost a leg to diabetes (which I do not have) or pushing your walker up and down the hall. The hight point of the day is the next meal. I mean I get it that you hang in there for your kids so they can visit you once a week, month or whatever it is.
We spend billions and billions on the care of these folks. It is only going to get worse as the baby boomers hit the fan. I am in no way suggesting taking lives, but shouldn't there be an honorable way to say: "I've had enough. Adios."
