Ian Rappaport just reported on NFL TV. Off to the WW! Geez. Eagles RB Jay Ajayi out for season with torn ACLGlad I'm not an Eagle homer. haha. Well wait, if I was I would probably have the back up. I did pick one of them up at the CTM just before this happened... Wendell Smallwood. This is really bad news. When healthy, Ajayi makes a big difference for our offense.

I knew ha had a fracture in his back, so figured he might not last all season, but this is news to me. I didn't even notice him get injured.

The Eagles backfield has been a revolving door this season due to injuries, but Ajayi's is by far the most serious to befall the group. Smallwood has benefited the past four games as Darren Sproles (hamstring) missed all of them and Corey Clement (quadriceps) sat out the last two, though the latter was active in the event of an emergency Sunday against the Vikings. On the season, Smallwood has averaged 6.0 YPC on 25 rushes, hauled in 10 of 15 passes, and scored two touchdowns in five contests. Expect his role to increase, depending on the health of Sproles and Clement.

I had no idea, only that he's been hit or miss in terms of snaps for some reason. Yeah, if he's 32nd, I don't think his absense will have a huge impact, although he's def an every down back, IDK about the other two. Sproles is probably out til after the wk 9 bye, or at least week 7. But hey, we got 2 viable TE, and 3 healthy starting WRs in Jeffries, Agholor (who I'm not fond of). and Mathews who is quickly catching up on the playbook. If Clement is good to go by week 7, we shouldn't miss a beat. Cuz we WILL beat the Giants.

Losing Ajayi is definitely a hurt piece, but shouldn't be our downfall. Getting back Sproles should certainly help our passing game, because believe it or not, his small ass is our best pass protecting RB at picking up blitzes and what not. Smallwood has played well, but he can't pick up a blitzer to save his (or Carson's) life. Our secondary is abysmal, especially with Rodney McLeod out of the lineup for the rest of the season. Losing Mike Wallace and not having a legit burner to threaten down field is actually a much bigger deal than most people realize. Praying he can come back sometime soon, but he's week-to-week right now. IDK what's going on with Mack Hollins, but he could be that deep threat if he makes it back on the field. Our defensive line hasn't lived up to potential so far. What's most concerning to me though, is our offensive line. It's supposed to be one of the best in the league, but Carson is under extreme pressure almost every play it seems. Our O-Line and D-line are supposed to be our strong points. If they don't get it together we may not even make the playoffs.

Think they might take a shot on trading for David Johnson.

Imagine Shady coming back to the Eagles. Rumors are we're pursuing him. The rumor's been milling about this for maybe a week now. BUF HC (?) confirmed they've been talking. But of course, he tried to temper it by saying 'our phone rings a lot', bla bla bla. It wouldn't shock me. Eagles are gonna have to pay a lot. But IMO, the Bills are looking at rebuilding, they know they are toast this year.

Funny thing would be if they didn’t win. They should easy but let’s say they didn’t. And the boys lose to the jags which is probably and the skins lose to the panthers. Also very very possible. Then what do we have? Lmao. Imagine that !

Nothing has been easy for the Eagles this season. They're just not the same team as they were last season, but hoping they can regain some of that form sooner rather than later. I certainly wouldn't be shocked if you all beat us. They're always close and hard fought battles between our teams. If everyone in the NFC East does lose this week, then all four teams would be 2-4. Can't say that I ever remember anything like that before.

But anyway yes maybe this years division leader will have 7 wins lol. Its looking that way so far
