Well, you did quit smoking. Didn't I have a part in that? Thought I convinced you to give the E-Cig a shot years ago, but I could be mistakin'? I know I got my Mom to quit smoking cigs by buying her an E-Cig. She doesn't even use the E-Cig anymore. Think I also convinced you to give the Ninja type blender a shot too? You still use that? Yeah, I am going to start that whey protein drink thing. My cousin has been using that as a breakfast substitute and has dropped 20 lbs and added muscle. 20 lbs less and more muscle and I could have a beach body. 🤗 Whey would be something you would do after a work out. I would not recommend it as a valuable meal substitute. You would be better off just lowering your carbs each meal. Alls whey is, is a quick way to get proteins into your muscles once fatigued from lifting.

You sound like some of those beasts that work out on the free weight side. There are these two guys that are 6’5” and change that go somewhere in the 245 to 260 range that appear to be twins. Chiseled from granite. They kept watching me for a while to see if I would fall off the equipment as I climb around like a monkey. Since I haven’t fallen weeks, people seem more relaxed. Sure you could grunt in our gym. Virtually everyone has on headphones anyway. I power lifted for years. I dont do the heavy stuff anymore. Im 47 now and more into the reps and cardio and running. I was 5-7 205 at my max. That was max lifts in squat bench and deads and was also max in the size of my belly from drinking to much beer lol. Started changing diet and exercise patter 2 years ago. Im now 157 pounds and in shape ( not a shape). Diet is really the most important things. Carbs are killers. . Compact and powerful. Great combo. Yeah, my cousin’s trainer said I have cut out the muffins and the bagels in the morning. He also advised the whey protein. I have to admire my cousin. He broke his neck in a swimming pool accident back in 1978. He is rated as a quad because his left arm has been a club. But he is working on it now and gaining strength. He has to have a trainer set up all his excises. It is a real hoot when we go in there. He has one of those vans with a hand control and a ramp. I like because I don’t have to transfer out of my chair. Just set the brakes and grab on to the door. Anyway, when we get there before the trainer, he grabs the back of my chair and I pull him to the door as it is on an incline. Sometimes I get behind him and push him through the doors if no one notices and comes out to help. I know he doesn’t love that, but you do what you have to. I told some of the guys who came out to take him in that we were taking over and there would be 4 more of us the following week. Only one laughed. 🤔

Green Goodness is a mixture of fruit and green vegetables without sugar or preservatives.

And for me the juice would depend on the fruit. I keep away from alot of fruits do to the sugar content. But anything green is usually good and the darker the better is what Ive been told. I think its just really staying away from sugars. Thats whats worked for me but I do alot of cardio so I may be a bad example. I know people that do strict keto (for weight loss only not muscle gain) and they shred pounds like its nothing.

Had a great workout yesterday and got to know a dude a year older than me and strong as fuck. His secret is that he never stopped working out. He told me he had lost 70 pounds off his bench press as he got older. I didn't ask, but it appeared he was benching about 225. Hate to think what he looked like a few years ago. Sheesh.

I have a home gym in my garage. Squat cage, free weights, dip and pull up station, heavy bag, Hexagon dumbbells, benches and bars. Also like resistance bands. I cant do public gyms I find that I don't really like the people there. Plus in florida we have a no grunting policy in gyms and I make a bit of noise working out. Im lucky enough to have a gym at the plant so I get lifts in there also. That's great that you are getting out tho. Always good to stay in shape at any age. Doing any cardio? Or sticking with the machines right now? Where are you in Florida? If it's anywhere near Boca, (meaning from FLL to WPB) I wouldn't mind talking. I belonged to Ballys for years, like since @ 1990 til they went under. There was a 3 year hiatus after moving to Seattle, where a/that gym was not feasible. I was able to renew it again in Philly for just $20 a month, didn't go often but I tried, and they must've folded shortly thereafter. Anyway, I hope to move to Florida next summer. It will probably be a gated 55+ community with pools, a rec center, gym and exercise classes. So I'll probably go from being old & outta shape (at a local gym today here) to being one of the youngest and (hopefully fairly quickly) fittest ones there. I remember at the Ballys in Chicago, there were a couple aerobics, etc instructors who would almost shame you if you quit or slowed down. At one point, my outer thighs/hips burned so bad (I was jogging a lot then too) that I was sure I needed hip surgery (was in my late 30s). I mean there was pain for months upon minimal running or spot exercise to that area. Lessons learned, don't do more than a few reps after you feel the burn. Rest, go to more reps at a lower weight or resistance. But any burn is actually tearing your muscles. A little is good, and you rebuild. Too much is debilitating.

Today was a real farkin day. Workout and two doctors appointments. Tired of so many transfers.
However, I am seeing improvement in my left foot and they are considering a brace for my right. May be possible to walk at some point.

I live in Tampa, so on the other side. Some of those community facilities are pretty sweet. In a 55 and up you wont get the drill instructors and will be left to your own devices, but there will be plenty of stuff to choose from Im sure.

I've done a lot of homework, and a place like this is the only thing that makes sense. I'm not handy, so a condo is most of the battle. The rather large HOA (homeowner's assoc fee) includes preferred cable (200+ channels) and internet, so there's $150 right there, and no worries about having these companies trying to dick me over every year. lol Also wanna be safe, stay active, make new friends. Warm, close to the ocean I love so much, can't wait!!

Both sides have good beaches.

Got to know the monster twins the other day. Turns out they really aren’t twins. Great young men though.
My best friend joined the other day. Always more fun when you have people you know around when you work out.
