Silly to talk about, I suppose, but it is getting to be my favorite thing. Got my best friend and my son to join, so now I have multiple means of transportation. Interesting crowd you meet there. You have the stern and silent types. The gregarious folks. Deadly women in skin tight outfits daring you to stare at them. Even a lot of old farts like me. Well, a few. It does seem like my best days are ones where I exercise. Getting the blood pumping and all that. Progress is slow, but I am not trying for huge muscles or a beach body. Actually been cutting back on weight and going for reps. One of the trainers there said if I can't do at least 15 reps of any exercise, I am not doing it right. Can do 20 on a few. But patience pays when you are old. Just slowly taking my time. Adding a new machine every now and then. And enjoying myself. Oh, for inspiration, there are a few old fuckers there that are stronger than I am. Setting my sights. You have to have goals.

I have a home gym in my garage. Squat cage, free weights, dip and pull up station, heavy bag, Hexagon dumbbells, benches and bars. Also like resistance bands. I cant do public gyms I find that I don't really like the people there. Plus in florida we have a no grunting policy in gyms and I make a bit of noise working out. Im lucky enough to have a gym at the plant so I get lifts in there also. That's great that you are getting out tho. Always good to stay in shape at any age. Doing any cardio? Or sticking with the machines right now?

The gym is enormous and has about ever machine you can imagine. It is actually part of a mega church and part of their community outreach program. My son says their facility makes Anytime Fitness look sick. I am starting to row again on my off days. I have a very good machine with a big fly wheel at home. The reason I cannot walk is that I have almost no control of my toes or the edge of my feet. Would love to get on the bikes or the Nordic Trainers, but cannot keep my feet in the stirrups or push with my toes. I am working on that though. Still holding on to the idea that I will walk again one day.

I do breathing stuff and kind of meditation as I do it. I go to my happy place and just breath deep. It works and I do it sometimes instead of the Nitro. Thinking of trying yoga.

There are these two guys that are 6’5” and change that go somewhere in the 245 to 260 range that appear to be twins. Chiseled from granite. They kept watching me for a while to see if I would fall off the equipment as I climb around like a monkey. Since I haven’t fallen weeks, people seem more relaxed. Sure you could grunt in our gym. Virtually everyone has on headphones anyway.

I had a bench under a shed in my old yard with a bunch of weights, curling bars and dumbells. That was at my old house back in NJ. I got lazy and stopped working out a few years ago. I got rid of it all when I moved.
I've got one of those pull-up bars you prop up in a doorway. I plan on using that, along with doing pushups, a plank routine, and a healthy stretching routine. I want to get back in shape.
I'm gonna try to get started on a routine tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Thought I convinced you to give the E-Cig a shot years ago, but I could be mistakin'? I know I got my Mom to quit smoking cigs by buying her an E-Cig. She doesn't even use the E-Cig anymore. Think I also convinced you to give the Ninja type blender a shot too? You still use that?

I deal with neuropathy in my feet and legs every day with a host of other ills, but nothing like that. Part of why I like working out so much. For whatever reason, I don’t feel any of it when I exercise and for a while after. Wish they could figure out a way to deal with your pain. Chronic discomfort like that absolutely sucks.

My cousin has been using that as a breakfast substitute and has dropped 20 lbs and added muscle. 20 lbs less and more muscle and I could have a beach body. 🤗

That was max lifts in squat bench and deads and was also max in the size of my belly from drinking to much beer lol. Started changing diet and exercise patter 2 years ago. Im now 157 pounds and in shape ( not a shape). Diet is really the most important things. Carbs are killers.
