@drpompous, @ronborges, indydave- Do you believe in the paranormal? Maybe you have a story to tell also? Anybody else have a story that hasn't been told here yet?

How would you be trying to classify the "Paranormal"? Is this like seeing Angels and Demons or having visions? Or like Extra terrestrials, Big foot and other Sculley and Mulder type things?

How would you be trying to classify the "Paranormal"? Is this like seeing Angels and Demons or having visions? Or like Extra terrestrials, Big foot and other Sculley and Mulder type things? Paranormal: denoting events or phenomena such as telekinesis or clairvoyance that are beyond the scope of normal scientific understanding: Medical def: not understandable in terms of known scientific laws and phenomena So I would say this.... It's human nature to try to understand how the world works. Yet as studies of the human brain advance, it becomes clear how remarkably complicated and different the way any 2 minds works. It's impossible (at this point in time) to determine how differences in function are caused. Brief nutshell, like does personality dictate how your brain will physically change (like those red/yellow/green brain diagrams that measure levels of serotonin, epinephrine, endorphins, and stuff like that) , or is it vice versa, or some combination thereof? Heady stuff. lol Guess what I'm trying to say is that the mind is a super-powerful thing. And as much as we can't really know what goes on in the minds of others, it's hard to grasp and even control what goes on in our own minds. So... I believe people can experience things that they themselves can't scientifically explain in any rational way. So it gets the paranormal tag. I believe that some people's parts of the brain are more super-developed than others, or are more receptive to being developed that way. Like telekinesis, the most extreme example. How fine is the line between a psychotic episode and fleeting visions of things you can't explain? A loss of grip on reality, however temporary, is probably a terrifying thing for most people. But maybe it shouldn't be. Maybe we should accept it as reality of the human condition. That some more than others are subject to the power of suggestion, subliminal and otherwise - depending on your weakness or interest or whatever. IOW, if you tell someone a house is haunted, they could be more likely to see things that aren't there. Like in your case Eddie, with the shaking TV, is there enough combined telekinesis in the room? I doubt it. But can I rule it out 100%? No. Ghost? Also doubt it. Rule out 100% No. Where does that leave us, IDK. Personal weird example: On a Manhattan subway mid-day, car was half full (most benches near full, handful or 2 of straphangers). Tall thin woman is holding the pole mid-car. Stylish, dark-ish clothing, lots of silver jewelry. I immediately tagged her as a witch, and IDK why - no one else before or since had elicited that thought from me. (Background... a very close friend at the time (since kindergarten) dabbled in witchcraft, she was not one, but another friend of hers was). So I look away for a minute. Then I look up to find her, and she is gone. So I'm thinking 'the train did not stop, where did she go?' I looked around again, she's not there. I turn around maybe a 4th or 5th time, and there she is, and gives me a hint of a smile. So in my mind, 'she knows that I know, and hello'. If I ask 10 people what probably happened there, I'll get 10 answers. Would a camera reveal anything else? Probably. But I'll never know. Small example: Walking thru the hood in the Bronx X-mas time, admiring all the lights and decoration. I look up at a building and just blurt out "I like that one on the 13th floor" (20 - 30 story bldg?). I didn't count or describe the location. Just blurt it out, like with certainty. So I caught myself, like 'wtf'? Sure enough, 13th floor. Okay, it's not the 34th floor of a skyscraper but still. lol My take, the mind is better at processing info when your consciousness or 'ego' (not meant the bad way) doesn't interfere. EDIT: IOW, my brain counted the floors in a split second. So I didn't have enough knowledge to vote. IDK if I trust the experience of others as enough 'proof' either. You know me, the agnostic. And researchologist extraordinaire. EDIT: Okay I picked 'maybe' - my typical indecisive self. Gotta believe is astrology though. I am the quintessential gemini. EDIT: Ya know, there are a (very) few people that can recall every moment of their lives. Just throw out any date. A lot of it is verifiable. Could be school records, shopping receipts. Or if they tell you what episode of a show they watched, or the news. IDK if that falls directly under paranormal. Guess some would explain it was a super-developed part of the brain. She's using 60%, most use 15%. She wasn't a genius either, at least that my little brain can recall.

Marlene's brother is staying with us for a while. I told him of the lady in the hallway. He's like oh yeah sure. I haven't seen her in a long long time. A few weeks ago he comes out to the living room all excited. "I saw her! I saw her!' haha. Is it just that I put that in his mind? Or did he see her? You be the judge.

I'd have questions, like... 1) Was it through the corner of your eye? 2) Lights on or ambient daylight or better yet twilight? 3) What did she look like? 4) What was she wearing? 5) How long were you able to look at her, if at all? She is always seen in the hallway? What is the lighting like? Any particular time of day more likely? Are there little windows in a door or elsewhere? Sometimes the light from cars or shadows from a large vehicle can throw light around. Maybe a curtain? Coat stand? lol Lemme put it this way...I believe he's more likely to see something if you suggest he might. Ghosts are pretty exciting to most people. lol

There is not windows near the hallway. The hallway goes down the middle of the house and makes a right hand turn to two bedroom doors at the end. At the right turn is the master bedroom door on the left. The bathroom door is straight ahead if you don't turn right. He was sitting in his room at the end of the hall. He said she was wearing a white gown, same as I have seen. My son and a few other claim she wears a black gown. She went into the other bedroom he said and was gone. Its a quick sight the times I have seen her. Kind of transparent but there. Moves fast and usually is sort of out of the corner of your eye. Day, night, doesn't seem to matter. She appears when she does.
I know this sounds crazy and I would think the same if I hadn't seen it. Or if lots of people also. All my kids have and so has my ex wife and Mar. Everyone who has lived here has. Only a few have heard the whimpering child, me included. My kids have stories that I did not witness, but a few of their friends would not come over anymore after having a sleep over. My sons German Shepard years ago once tried to attack the wall very viciously.
We see shadows pass in front of the doors in the hall way when we are in the bedroom a lot. It became standard happenings. I'll be in the living room watching TV and Mar will be laying on the bed watching TV and she will say."Hey she just went past the door.
I know it sounds like I am nuts but if so I'm not the only one. It doesn't bother us or frighten us because its almost like we don't believe it. It has become fun. I look forward to seeing her. I don't tell to many people in real life because they think I'm nuts. My kids talk about it more than me.
I can't explain why or how. I don't try to. I just know its cool.

IDK, Craig....think you've got me convinced that there is definitely something paranormal going on at your house. Why don't you set up a camera in the hallway?

Yea, When I was a kid, I was playing football in the street at night. We took a break and laid on my neighbors front lawn. A purple light surrounded us and made it hard for us to move. When the light disappeared, we were able to get up and we ran home. Is that paranomal?

I get the same effect when I’m around liberals
