My wife and I have been on a movie kick lately. Since she's super preggers, we're limited to what we can do some nights, so sitting in a nice cool theatre with comfy seats is a good option... So here's what we've seen lately and some brief thoughts on the movies:
Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates: Hilarious. Not a "good" movie, but it will definitely make you laugh if you like dirty humour about sex, drugs and partying.
Tarzan: Fantastic. Sort of a sequel to the original story, but great acting, great actors, great CGI...
Jungle Book: Fun movie if you liked the old Disney movie. It was a pretty solid live action remake.
Keanu: Hilarious. Starring Key and Peele... Basically a gangster/crime movie, but instead of everyone fighting over drugs or money, they are all fighting over an adorable kitten... It's ridiculous and very funny.
Captain America - Civil War: Loved it! They brought in some new superheroes to the avengers universe and did a great job casting them... Great humour, great action...
X-men - Apocalypse: Pretty good. I've always liked the X-men movies (except for Last Stand). This one wasn't the best of the series (that would either be the original or First Class), but I think they've saved the series after their horrendous mess left from The Last Stand.
Central Intelligence: Decent. It has some pretty funny parts. Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson is fantastic... Kevin Hart has his moments, though he can be a little overwhelming in a lead role.
Dead pool: Loved it... That's all I can really say.
How to be Single: Way better than I expected. Agreed to watch it because my wife wanted to see it... Was really funny, but also a decent story.
I gues all in all I don't have many bad things to say about many movies lately. Maybe I have just been trying to go into movies with a more positive outlook and accepting them for what they are.
