I don't know if ya'll have noticed but I've picked Jeff Gordon as my race winner bonus pick every week this year, lol. Its my last chance.
Oh and guess what? The 2016 rules package are right in the wheelhouse of Jeff, as opposed to the 2015. So nice of NASCAR to f^ck him over once more. For old times sake I guess.

I truly consider Jeff's final competitive season to be last year. This year has had so much wrong with, its unbelievable. Have you looked at the TV ratings? They're God-awful. I have watched all the NASCAR races, all the Indycar races, and all the F1 Grand prix's this year. Indycar has the best pure racing out there. We're getting jacked up and ready for the USGP down here at COTA next weekend. Nobody is paying NASCAR any attention right now. The only attention NASCAR is getting is "Isn't Jeff Gordon retiring?" It's sad what NASCAR has done, and is doing, with American Stock Car racing. espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:13548438

Nathan Do you ever watch motorcycle road racing? My step brother was on team Yamaha many years ago. I spent the week in Daytona, Taladaga, etc. I wore a uniform and everything. I was a clocker. I had six or seven stop watches during the week. I even had a little mini enduro to ride around the infield at Daytona. He was really really good. Until he crashed and died in Europe. He still has a facebook page that is run by his younger brother. Lots of old road racers post there. You can look it up if you want. Pat Evans. I'm on there in some pictures.

Too bad he died, but I guess in motorcycle racing it happens more often? I don't typically watch motorcycle racing, but if its on I can't turn it off.

He died at Imola? That's where Ayrton Senna was killed. Very tough, dangerous track. Tamburello is legendary.

Man, thats a shame. Sounds like he was top notch. Yes he was. He was two years younger than me. I had to drive him everywhere. His dad lied about his age to get him in the racing circuit here in Cali. He took second his first race and then won 52 in a row. Had the number 1 plate. He would race in all seven races in a day and win them all. But more than that, he was my friend. I miss him terribly. I have lots of stories and memories.

This has nothing to do with Pat but it is Daytona. I got to ride around the track once. Those bank turns were steeper than I thought. I went on the bottom haha. I was not nearly as brave or crazy as those guys. When I watched this I could smell the smells. Kind of weird. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR4P4hjTKgg

Thats cool Craig. I wish sometimes we could go back to the 70's. Things were simple then.
