How is everyone? Sorry I have been incognito.
Been working alot and doing some other things around the house,/yard work, repairs, spring cleaning sorta thing.
Any way, really been concentrating on being a better person, and trying to get healthy, quit smoking and all that.
Honestly been tryin to stay off the internet some too.
Me and the wife has talked about maybe chunking WIFI but we both came to the conclusion that was too much, lol.
We are both trying to make a concerted effort in stop smoking and coffee and the net are two of our main culprits.
Havent told many people but Iam starting to have chest pains and other ailments due to smoking for 40 years.
For the last few days I have really cut back. Iam down to around 10 or 12 a day. Thats good for me.
Im really starting to get concerned about it,but no plans on seeing a doctor anytime soon,as I hate going.
Really need all the prayers I can get with this yall. Its a crutch in my life for sure.
Hope all is well with everyone.
Looking forward to another FF season with you ALL.

Its a crutch in my life for sure. Hope all is well with everyone. Looking forward to another FF season with you ALL. Just returned from a needed vacation from here myself for over a month. So while I didn't know you were gone, welcome back nevertheless. Here's the thing about smoking, and it's a bit trickier than it sounds..... you really have to want to want to quit. That was not a grammatical error. Okay... I wanted to quit be a non-smoker, but didn't want to go through the process of quitting, which is so complicated, only other long-time smokers or ex-smokers understand. Another way to put it... you have to want to commit to quitting, not just commit. And that decision to do so means doing everything you can to assure you'll be successful. It involves a lot of planning to cover every situation. You have to understand your triggers, some less avoidable than others, like eating. You make contingency plans for or even (avoid for awhile) bad trigger situations, like a party, picnic, drinks with friends. You make substitutions, like gum, or go for a walk. You make lists of the reasons you don't wanna quit, and a longer one of reasons you do. Remind yourself of them often. Create a reward system. Put the $ you would've spent on smokes aside. For 2 people smoking a pack a day at $10 a pack, that's $600 a month, or a new huge screen TV, or laptop. In a year, it's $7,500, or a good used car. This reward is almost instantaneous, and infinite possibilities. My cig $ was about equal to food, not eating out, basic groceries. For myself, I did the Nicoderm patches. Danny got his for free, I can look for the program if you like, or you can probably find it yourself. It's a phone interview, and they send you the patches. I volunteered for a U of Penn study, so it was free, they even paid me. Gotta tell you though, the wife's gotta quit at the same time. I could not quit with Danny having them in the house, and going out to the balcony (I look right at it from my sofa). It's one thing to say 'I will not go out to buy them, quite another to grab one from Danny's jacket. Coffee is usually a trigger for cigs, so maybe try some tea, 2 birds with 1 stone? Not a tea guy? Anyway, you must commit to never giving yourself 'permission', but you can conversely forgive yourself, and get back on the horse.

I smoked for 24 years, been quit about 7. Everyone is different so I wont try and tell you what will work. The coffee thing tho was hard for me. What I wound up doing was drinking my coffee in a place that I cannot smoke like work or in my truck or something and then popping in a piece of gum right after the get the coffee taste out. This actually helped alot and I didnt have to quit coffee. Good luck man

I've too been having some very alarming and scary issues with my health as well. I currently don't have health insurance, and scared shitless to see a doctor even if I did. I quit smoking, don't drink hard liquor anymore, use one of those ninja blenders regularly that I throw all types of fruit and veggies into, and have started a regular exercise routine. Praying with those changes my ailments will go away. You absolutely need to quit those cigs though, and hopefully work up the courage to see a cardiologist to make sure you don't have any blockages. I quit smoking a few months ago. What works for me personally, is an e-cig. I bought a cheap one at walmart, brand name of 'VUSE'. It cost about $10 bucks, and the cartridges come in two-packs for about $8-$10. Each cartridge is equivalent to about a pack and a half of smokes. I only use it when I have those really triggering moments, but not normally throughout the day. It has really helped to settle the urge of buying more smokes. It's light and small, and relatively cheap. It'll probably make ya choke the first few times you pull on it, but all good after that. Both you and wifey should give it a shot, because like Beverly said, real hard to quit when smokes are still in the house.

I also used vape to stop. I smoked for eighteen years, started at age 42! I know I know, how stupid is that. Anyway went to smoke shop and bought a vape pen for twenty five bucks. It's rechargable and uses fluid that is cheaper than Eddies thingy. I did that And it worked for about six weeks. Then It started bothering my throat. I quit that. It helped me with the nicotine cravings and you can cut the nicotine down slowly. Haven't smoked in over two years now. It's so much better of a life. Not a slave. Plus the money.
Jeff! I would give anything to go back in time and go to the doctor before my heart attack. I had chest pains for about a year. Finally went to the emergency room. Here is how important it is, they take you in for tests right away. There can be someone with a broken leg sitting there with the bone sticking out and you go first. Please read about what to do if you feel a heart attack coming. Sit up straight, chew about five aspirins, breath deep and even cough as much as you can. I wish I could give you some Nitroglyserin tabs just in case. I carry them in my pocket at all times. I use them now and then.
Does your left shoulder hurt? Your arms? My pain was right in the middle of my chest and my left arm and shoulder. Mostly at night and I had to sit up. If you have clogs your heart may be pumping fine but not getting enough blood or oxygen. Hopefully you have acid reflux not clogged arteries. Acid reflux causes chest pain simular to heart issues. If you go they may do a angiograph. It's not that bad and most of the time they put in a stint or two and you feel twenty years younger the next day. I wasn't so lucky. My whole system was clogged.
Good luck brother, we love you and want you to stick around.

If not, that would explain a lot of things. lol The hard liquor thing, that must've been the past week. lol But yea, I was able to quit the 2nd time after Danny moved out. He's still telling half lies all the time about if he's smoking or not, and how much. 'Giving himself permission' cuz 'I'm going thru this and that' every day of his life. He acknowledges that his feet hurt worse after a few puffs. Still does it. And it's not a little pain, he can barely walk more than a couple blocks as it is. Yeah Jeppers, went off on the quit smoking track, so forgot to mention.... agreed w/everyone else, please see a cardio and/or a pulmonary guy asap.

Don't think you told me you quit smoking, did you? If not, that would explain a lot of things. lol The hard liquor thing, that must've been the past week. lol But yea It's all good. We've both got our issues, just leave it at that, shall we? Yes, I recently quit smoking, and haven't bought hard liquor since I moved to SC, about 7-8 months ago. I've still gotten carried away with to much wine on several occasions, and occasionally cheat with smokes, but only temporarily, when I run out of the cartridges for the e-cig, as they're not sold around the corner from where I live. Overall though, I think I've made some major strides. I'm a flawed human being, most likely more than the majority of people, yes. I have zero problems admitting that, if that makes you happy. You are flawed, and have your own demons too, but I'm glad to have you as a friend.

Hopefully, this isn't soon me...
You never do know though, my friends.
I'm looking forward to another dominating fantasy football season, once again, and whatever the cards my hold shall be.
I love you all though, that is for sure.
I once had a friend say that to me(love you), years ago, and it kinda threw me off. I later learned to put aside my manly pride, and tell you all the same.
We only live one life, that I know of, and I'm proud to have you all as friends.
